The nubby gila monster was quite interesting and all, but I felt a need for something a little prettier. I walked by the kitchen table yesterday and the light from the window was glowing through this almost spent tulip. It caught my eye and I stopped to look at it more closely. The pollen sprinkles on the soft petals threaten to distract your eye from the light glowing through the center, however, instead of distraction, they remind us that beauty comes from within... no matter what rests on the surface.
