Well, Chuck decided to give it a try. He bought a little tomato plant. Just one. He carefully watered and fertilized it and entrusted it into my care while he was out of town. It set a few blossoms on and they grew into tiny little tomatoes. Oh the excitement! We have been nurturing this little tomato plant just like we use to nurture our larger vegetable garden in Colorado, with the hopes that we would have a small bounty of homegrown tomatoes for Thanksgiving.
And then we got a bit of a cold snap. And the really cold day when it hailed.
It looks like I might be trying a Southern recipe this Thanksgiving.
Fried green tomatoes!
The tomatoes still have a week to get their blush on.
