pretty in pink

While everyone else is having the winter of the century... we are in full spring bloom! A couple of weeks ago our little peach tree was loaded with pretty pink blossoms. There are a few of us that really love a peach blossom!

And as a matter of fact, so do the bees! They were swarming each of the flowers like it was Christmas!

Last year we enjoyed some tasty peaches and I think it looks pretty promising that we will get a nice little handful this year as well. As long as we can keep the birds away!

There is just something about a pink flower. A very pretty compliment to the green leaves.

But then, in black and white they are just as pretty.

So, it is a good thing this little tree was done blooming, because during the night and into this morning, the wind blew so hard that these blossoms would have been floating in the pool along with all the other leaves and flower petals in the backyard! Wowza...the entire pool had a layer of foliage on the surface this morning. One of our small bushes was nearly stripped of all its leaves and blooms. If the water was warm enough to get in it would have been like a fancy spa with floating flowers!

I'll be watching for little peaches to start growing and I'll let you know how they taste!
