of queens and kings

While Mom was here this past week, she and my friend and her mother went to an English Tea room for lunch. It's a quaint little spot. Lucky us... the queen was visiting the day we were there!! We sipped our tea and had a nice lunch and of course some nice English bite sized desserts!

Lovely! 

And then a few days later...this king snake visited our yard. He was in and out of the pool and made his way all around the yard. Some of our house quests were less amused than others. King snakes are ok...they keep away the rattlesnakes and are known to eat pack rats. So, hail to the king!

Mom's outfit was a good accent to the pink the Queen was wearing at our tea day. Good thing she wasn't wearing it the day we saw the snake...or we would have asked...Did you two plan that? So nicely coordinated!
