BOO!

Last night, on Halloween Eve, I got to watch my nieces children carve their pumpkin. The final result is this guy, who upon completion, was immediately covered in millions of spiders that have been recently invading their  home.

Creepy I tell ya.

Yesterday, I flew with the wind ( literally, because there was a dust storm going on in Phoenix) and landed in Denver. I'm here for a wedding and to get a little fall flowing through my veins. I'll be spending some time in the mountains, where I'm hoping to see some beautiful colors of fall. I get to hang out with my boy, which is the best autumn gift a momma could ask for. And, I will enjoy some time with my sister and her family too.

So, it's October and that means I'm heading into my fourth month in the vintage business.

I added a whole new bundle of stuff and am pretty excited to see how this month goes. Now that the days are a tad cooler... people might actually be wandering out of the coolness of their air conditioned homes. 

 I like this perfectly nested trio of frames.

I put a cover from an old sheet music book on this small table. Notice the little hint of music at the bottom?

I'm pretty sure I could find a place for this great harvest basket in my house. And what about that chippy plant stand?

I found this telephone seat that was pretty beat up. A nice coat of paint and some new fabric on the seat gave it a new look.

I've been enjoying this little hobby of mine and am pleased with the sales I have had.

Tuesday I drove up to Flagstaff to visit the youngest daughter.

I had the radio on listening to all the reports of the government shutdown and what that really means and who is affected and who is to blame and who isn't to blame and when it happened before and how long they predict this one will last and how this sends a message to other countries and well, I'm sure you heard it too. And you know it makes you think ..."really, how do they (we) just shut down our government"?

And so, I was driving and thinking and then I saw this sign over the road. There was a big gap in the traffic and I was able to stop and snap a photo. Even though I was hearing it all on the radio...here it was.

A real visible sign that someone decided they didn't want to play anymore and they were "taking their toys and going home."

Call it what you want. I call it a mess. Like my bug splattered windshield.
