all things golden

Last week was great.
It was a fun Spring Break with everyone home together. The weather was ideal with warm sunshine every day. We did plenty of outdoor activities and even did a little relaxing in front of the t.v. watching March madness basketball. The 50th birthday was great also! Isn't 50 years married the golden anniversary? It should be for your 50th birthday too. It sound much better than over the hill. We had the Arizona relatives over for dinner and dessert. It was a shared celebration for other March birthdays in the family.

The week went by quickly and soon it was time to take the college boy to the airport. It is always more fun to pick him up than it is to drop him off. So, he is back in Golden, Colorado where upon his arrival Saturday evening it was 34 degrees. Brrr.

This morning we woke early as one headed off to work and two went to school. After all the excitement, the house is now quiet. It will be a lonely day. The only thing golden will be me finishing off the rest of these....
We discovered them around the time of the olympics. Seemed appropriate that we went for our own gold while watching all those athletes. And they are great to munch on while we watch our favorite basketball team from Denver.
They are bad I tell you. Very, very, crunch-a-liciously bad!

*disclaimer: that is a photo of the bag when it was unopened. I will not be finishing off an entire bag today. There is only about a handful left. I don't want anyone to think I will be spending that much idle time munching on snacks!

  1. I'm glad you clarified the amount of those crunchy snacks you were going to be devouring today.

We had our Kickoff for the Waco Relay for Life tonight. It was a success with Shawna in the role of co-chair. Shawn provided singing and keyboard entertainment and a little Jeopardy theme to go with the drawing of door prize tickets. This year's theme is Superheroes Unite to Fight Cancer. Shawna's boys came dressed as the Hulk and Mr. Incredible. They served as greeter and elevator door man. They even had their moment in the spotlight as they danced/ jumped to the song Jump, played and sang by Shawn during the event. Needless to say, they were a big hit. Our hand made cards from Spring break made their debut. We sold a few, so we have officially kicked-off our fund raising for the 2010 Relay.
